Concrete
Installing concrete can seem like a straight forward task but each job offers different challenges some of them have to do with the color of the concrete, the finish work, the size of the job, the shape and the depth of the concrete needed. Each of these variables are taken into account when assessing and bidding a job. Once these variables have been mulled over and we have decided the procedures that need to take place to we put together our plans.
The process typically centers around the same basic principles which include preparation of the area to be poured. This can be grading, reinforcing the base material or planning for drainage. We also consider the layout of the concrete and what order we need to pour to achieve the final product.
The next step is the placement of the concrete which involves using different methods to get the concrete where it needs to be. The easiest way is that the cement truck can back right up to the forms and pour the concrete directly where it needs to be. For smaller jobs that are in an area we cannot reach with the cement truck we will use some good old fashioned wheel barrows to move the material into place. When we are doing a hard to reach job that requires a lot of cement we turn to a concrete pumping boom truck that has a massive arm capable of reaching hundreds of feet to dispense the material in its final resting place. This option is sometimes used on residential concrete jobs but more often we use it on larger commercial concrete projects.
Once a home or business owner decides what they want installed we go over what they can expect of the final product. Things to consider are the finish, the texture, concrete color, pricing and how payment will be handled.

Concrete Removal
In some cases concrete simply needs to be removed and replaced. Below are a few conditions that are justifications for concrete demolition and removal.
Deep cracks resulting from large vehicles and high traffic. A poorly prepared sub grade or sub grade erosion can also be a culprit and require concrete replacement.
Other scenarios that warrant replacement are concrete slabs that have sunk, this can be due to rain water erosion, a leaky pipe underground or from a creek/stream or water run off area.
In colder climates such as Idaho freezing rain water can destroy a slab. This is when water gets underneath the slab, freezes and expands causing the slab to shift and crack. This is why it is important to pay attention to cracks in the concrete around your home so that you can seal them before it becomes a bigger issue.
This is a short list of the conditions we see every week in Kuna. Let us come out and see what you have going on so we can best decide how to fix your issue. Call today!
